Thank you for visiting the SR 299 Improvements Project (from Catherine Street to SR 1) website. This project will widen the roadway corridor, improve traffic capacity and operations, add pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and improve safety.
We will complete the project in nine phases to maintain access and safety throughout the corridor. Visit this website for regular updates regarding the current and upcoming phases. We are currently working in Phase 1 and 2. Please see below for more information.

Night work will be performed at certain times to install the pipes. During this time, a lane will be closed, and a flagger will direct two-way traffic. Flaggers will escort pedestrians through work zones at intersections and temporary pedestrian paths will be used in work areas.
A pedestrian detour will be in place during work at the SE corner of SR 299 and Silver Lake Road. The posted detour will include a temporary crossing at Silver Lake Road and Fairfield Court.

A temporary bus stop will be in place for DART Route 43 on westbound SR 299 at the Silver Lake Center. The existing bus stop at East Hampstead Road will be relocated to this location.

Work includes widening the existing roadway as well as constructing curb, sidewalk, and drainage features. Most of the work on the east side of Brick Mill Road has been completed.
Pedestrian detours will be in place for work along the north side of SR 299. The sidewalk will be closed between East Hampstead Road and Silver Lake Road and a portion of the sidewalk in front of the Dove Run Shopping Center. The posted detour will use sidewalk on the south side of SR 299.
