Q. When will the project be complete?

A.It is expected to be completed in the fall of 2023.

Q.What is the project cost?

A.$18.4 million

Q. Will work be done at night?

A.Yes, work will be done at night when temporary lane closures are needed to complete construction activities. This will minimize impacts to commuter traffic during daytime hours.

Q.Are closures and detours needed?

A.Yes, closures and lane restrictions are needed. Detours will be provided when closures occur.  Notice will be provided on this website and DelDOT’s website in advance of closures and lane restrictions. Click here for more information about detours and closures.

Q. Will pedestrian facilities be maintained during construction?

A. Pedestrian access will be maintained where facilities currently exist. At times sidewalk closures will be needed and pedestrian detours will be implemented. Detour signs will be installed to direct pedestrians. During short-term work activities flaggers may be used to direct pedestrians through or around work zones at intersections.

Q.Can I still use transit within the project limits?

A.Yes, however temporary DART stops will be provided along SR 299 during construction for Route 43. Refer to the phase for more information.
